Crisis is where a vitally important or decisive state of things, point at which change must come for better or for worse. Crisis means change.
Today on the first of September I return to my blog, which has been published automatically for the last two months and I have concentrated on other things, like my daughter, creating a new company, enjoying the summer life of this wonderful island and regaining my strength.
The health crisis is affecting all of us and some changes are here to stay, others will return as they were before and we the human race will adapt. Resilience and ability to adapt is our strength as a species.
The executives, that I talk to, who are independent of each other and working in different industries tell me the same thing. Working remote works, we are able to cut costs and things are more effective.
This seems to have emptied large office buildings in the city centers, shops moving on-line even more than before. Rents are falling in big cities, Cafes and restaurants suffer as people are working and eating at home.
Airline companies are grounded and suffering losses, but the world still needs to carry goods and passengers around the world. Will the big internet markets or logistic companies become our next air travel providers?
How will we socialize? Will business change as we have less personal contact? Will the education system change? Will globalization be lessened along with free movement?
I have so many questions as I look at how things are changing faster than I ever could have imagined. At this moment in time change is so fast it is difficult to plan ahead, and a good plan seems to be the most flexible one.
Does the lack of long-term planning create more stress or does its slow things down for you?
Does working from home make you work more? Or less? How does it affect you to have video meetings? Can you still get the same level of communications online as you did person to person?
If your workplace provided you with social interacting how will you adapt if it doesn’t come back, where will you go to have human contact?
We as human beings all need human contact to a lesser or greater degree; we now know that longevity is extended by having healthy relationships.
How are you thinking about how to adapt?
I hope you are as happy as would like to be and remember it is free to be kind.
Best wishes
Ivalo
