Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans.
John Lennon
Have you ever made plans and ended up in a different direction all together?
When factors that were out of your control left with different choices?
I think this is also related to the topic that has occupied me for a while, resilience.
You can see my other blogs about this topic here.
I have been feeling a bit under the weather and during a trip to Bogotá I just had to give in and rest. I had all these wonderful plans in my head but no, my body wanted bedrest and sleep. My new choices were what to watch on Netflix and what novel to read and not all the other things I had planned.
It was frustrating and then again there was a silver lining. I had so many people texting me and asking me how I was. I felt loved and privileged!
Sometimes that is the resilience, to rest when your body tells you so and to find a way of framing the situation, so you create the best healing environment in your mind.
You can do this by what I just did, a reframe is a technique where you turn your thoughts about a given situation, around, in NLP we use it to create a more or better quality of choice.
It gives you a different perspective on the way of viewing and experiencing events and ideas, concepts and emotions to find more constructive alternatives.
If you don’t know how to turn your thoughts around you can ask a friend or find a good Coach, you can see my blog here on how to choose a Coach.
You can also imagine that you are the Coach and you look at yourself from the outside and find the way you would reframe for a friend (the friend being yourself). It is a technique that will give you a different perspective and still you will have found the answers within yourself.
It is a way for you to get out of your train of thought that is not useful for you and find a thought pattern that shifts your state.
I hope you hope you are as happy as you would like to be and Remember it is free to be kind.
Best wishes
