It can be tough to digest the camels you have to swallow!

I got a call today from a close friend. I need help she said. Well, I replied I’m here for you as much as you want me to be.

She wanted nutritional advise, so I gave her the very simple rules, I think most of us know but find it hard to live by. Intake the number of calories you need, related to your gender, age, and physical activity and make sure that you cover your nutritional needs.

We talked about the importance of limiting the intake of empty calories, they are the calories that do not have any nutritional value such as refined flours and sugars. We talked about the importance of exercise not only from the shoulder down but for our whole being.

Exercise does not only give us physiological benefits, but it can also give us that social connection that we need for our wellness and it produces endorphins (I talked about this in last week´s blog).

We talked about limiting beliefs, beliefs that stop you from getting where you would like to go. We questioned them and got around to secondary gains. These are gains that you get from your behaviour without you being conscious of them. The interesting thing about identifying them is that you can then find something different to give you the same results.

She then, as the good friend she is, asked me about my health. She knew that I have had some stomach issues. I told her, and she said, it is funny that you should get ill in your stomach, you that has always (I have known her since I was a young girl) lived so healthily and have so much knowledge.

I am not surprised, I told her. The recent non-negotiable challenges of life that I have had gave me some camels to swallow and camels can be pretty hard to digest.

She laughed and said, yes of course, and nobody really shows us how to digest camels.

I hope you are as happy as you would like to be and remember it is free to be kind.

Best wishes

Ivalo
