“Find an alternative way to honour and love your parents, than to repeat their illnesses”. (Dr. John Grinder)
I was lucky enough to be present at the Training of new Trainers of Neurolingüistic Programing by John Grinder, Carmen Bostic St. Clair and Michael Carroll in Portugal 2018. During which Dr John Grinder said many important things and one of the many that has stayed with me is: “Find an alternative way to honour and love your parents, than to repeat their illnesses.” I had just lost my father Jens Okking, a few month before that, he had been ill for the last 10 years, of what we would know as lifestyle provoked illness and my mother Bitten Kønig died all too young of cancer. So as you can imagine, this statement had a big impact on me, and it may also be important to you.
As you know, we learned from Darwin that the control of the human body comes from the parents, because the traits of a human are passed from parents and grandparents to the child, which are our genes. And a hundred years after Darwin, James Watson and Francis Crick tell us the story of DNA. We can also learn from the Biologist, Dr. Bruce Lipton, in his lecture called The Biology of Belief that it was Francis Crick who created the central dogma of molecular biology, which explains the flow of genetic information, from DNA to RNA, to make a functional product, a protein. The central dogma suggests that DNA contains the information needed to make all of our proteins, and that RNA is a messenger that carries this information to the ribosomes (which are, if you like, the kitchen in a house, as they create the protein for the cells) this basicly means that we are preprogramed.
Dr. Bruce lipton taught the central dogma in medical school for 20 years. He now tells us that the definition of Dogma is: “Belief based on a religious persuasion and not scientific fact” and as such he concludes that he has been teaching religion for two decades in medical school.
According to Dr Lipton the other name of the Central Dogma is the First Cause, in other words this means the First Cause to all of your traits, physical and emotional and they are all pre-programmed in your DNA,which is called genetic determinism. Genes control and determine the character of your life. But you did not pick the genes you came with nor can you change the genes you came with and therefore you become a victim of your heredity. This means that if illness like cancer or heart disease runs in your family, you believe that you are at risk of getting them too.
So what Dr Lipton is saying is that science is teaching us that we are powerless in determining our own health and he continues by saying that the problem with that is; when people think they are powerless they become irresponsible.
Futhermore, Dr Bruce Lipton, explains in his two hour lecture on youtube (you can see the link below) and his book the “Biology of Belief” that where traditional science seperates every thing into smaller units to research and study, modern science says that we have to study the wholeness because we are energy, and the universe is energy and energy can not be separated. Which in itself questions how modern medicine functions today, where we have specialists for every part of the body and we do not focus on the body as a whole, including the mind. So, Lipton concludes, to study illness you cannot just see it in the physical body.
The Doctor continues his lecture by demonstrating that in fact genes do not control life, as we have thought so far, Since it takes one gene to make one protein and there are 150.000 different shaped proteins in a human body but we have only 23.000 genes. So there are not enough genes to make a human body.
Which brings us to the question what then determines our health? And that is what Dr Bruce Lipton sets out to show us in his book The Biology of Belief and you have a two hour lecture available for free on You Tube. I encourage you to have a look, since my blog is only a superficial summary of what the Doctor has to say.
He says that less than 5% of the population are born with birth defects and birth defects stem from defects in the protein. Which means that 95% of the population are healthy at birth, so what makes us ill? What makes us ill is when the signals that control the protein have a defect. And according to Lipton there are only three things that can mess up the signal:
- Trauma,: for example if you fall off your bicycle and hurt yourself, the signal that controls the protein is interfered with.
- Toxins: If the chemistry inside the body is not good, the signal cannot be passed.
- Thought: the mind, there is nothing wrong with the body but the mind is sending the wrong signal at the wrong time (for example stress).
So if you change your thoughts your mind you can change biology!
As you may have guessed I find this argument fascinating, and my intention is not to convince you, it is more to make you curious! If what we think can change the way we feel, why should it not be possible to change illness. I say to you, do not underestimate the power of your belief. So do not just believe what you read here.
You have the references below, and maybe you can find more information by yourself.
I hope you are as happy as you would like to be and remember it is free to be nice.
Best wishes
