Hello dear readers, old ones and new ones, another week has passed by.
I am feeling inspired as I am on a new journey to new knowledge learning about the human brain and how to apply that to Coaching, with Joseph O’Connor.
I find it equally fascinating how much we know about the brain and how much we are yet to discover. Just imagine that your brain is so complex it doesn’t know everything about itself….
Neuroplasticity is the good news; we can learn new things our whole life. It doesn´t stop as your brain is fully developed in your twenties. You can train your brain with thinking just as you can the rest of your body.
As Shakespeare said, “there is no good or bad, only thinking makes it so”.
We can use our brain to our own benefit, we can even travel in time and train ourselves to see things from different perspectives and dimensions.
I have dedicated many years to healthy eating from the time when the campaign began “you are what you eat”. Just imagine if you change that with “you can be what you think”.
Just don’t fall into the habit of telling yourself off when your thoughts are not useful for you. Just think, that is okay “I love you anyway “ and change your train of thought.
So, when you wake up in the morning before you do anything else you can take a few minutes for brain travelling. Imagine you have wings, the most beautiful wings you can think of, as big or as small as you like, in the colour and texture you want.
Imagine what they feel like, what they sound like as you lift yourself up and fly out to meet the day. Maybe you are visiting people who you would like to send love and happiness, even the ones who challenge you, maybe especially the ones who challenge you.
Go to beautiful and peaceful places. A beach, a forest your favorite city, a concert a restaurant. Dive in there and see, hear, feel , taste and smell.
That´s right take a deep breath…..
Now, come back home and soar over your own body for a minute or two, have a good scan, from your head to your feet and then if you come across some tension, take a deep breath and breath through the tension. That is right, release as you breath out let it all go. Do that with all the places in your body where there is tension.
Now already for a new day, every day is a new beginning no need to bring things from yesterday or any other day that is not useful for you. Just leave it behind and take one last big breath. That is right.
Now go be as happy as you would like to be and remember it is free to be kind.
